Carnival Vista Review

Hey guys!
I just recently got back from a cruise onboard the Carnival Vista with a friend, and I have shared below my review of the ship, dining, entertainment, & cruise tips! If you are planning a cruise, House of Travel would be glad to help – you can contact me here.
Ship:
The Carnival Vista is a newer ship and it is one of the largest ships in Carnival’s fleet making its debut in 2016. Great food and fun can be found onboard the Vista! The ship boasts of exciting new dining, activities, and entertainment that can not be compared to the older ships. Some of the new additions to the Carnival ships include the IMAX theater, Thrill Theater with 3D immersive experience, mini golf, WaterWorks, basketball, huge arcade, SkyCourse, and SkyRide! SkyRide is like riding a bike with panoramic views 150 feet above the sea. In addition to these new ship extras, the newer ships also include better dining, accommodations, entertainment, and some say they have better cruise directors, staff, and service.
The Vista ship features a Brewery at Sea – the first of its kind! You can find the Brewery at Red Frog Pub where there are 4 handcrafted beers to choose from. There is also an expansive gym and spa on board. For ultimate relaxation, Cloud 9 spa offers many services from massages, acupuncture, sauna rooms and much more at an additional cost. You must also check out the adults only retreat ‘Serenity’ on deck 15 where you can enjoy adult only hot tubs and comfortable loungers. It was so peaceful that we fell asleep here a few times with the sea breeze and calm music.
Food:
There are amazing burgers at Guy’s Burger Joint, which we ate almost every day of our 7 day cruise! You can get fresh, delicious hand made pizza 24/7 at the pizzeria and there’s even pizza delivery to your room if you don’t feel like getting out. There are buffets, delis, tacos, and salad bars for daytime eats. And even a chocolate fountain, amazing deserts, and 24/7 ice cream at the Swirls station. There is specialty dining options for a small fee if you are looking for a finer experience. Some of my favorite specialty restaurants include Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Cucina del Capitano for Italian, Bonsai Sushi, and JiJi’s Kitchen for Asian cuisine. The Vista offers amazing eats onboard and if you are in the mood for BBQ look no further than Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse.
Activities & Entertainment:
From dance parties, Bingo, Lip Sync Competition, Comedy shows, trivia and much more! There were several things going on every hour so it’s hard to get bored while on board! The hardest part is choosing what you want to do and see everyday! There are many opportunities to win prizes like jewelry and/or watches. If you enjoy live performances, Playlist Productions features talented singers and dancers with great shows every night. There was also a ceremony honoring our Veterans in the Military which was really nice getting to hear some of their stories getting acknowledge and honor the men and women that fought for our country.
Also, if you are traveling with kids, a cruise is absolutely prefect with the child and youth services of Camp Ocean. Camp Ocean engages the kids with other kids and they always seem to really enjoy it.
Destinations:
Cruises are so great, because you get the opportunity to experience multiple destinations. With the Vista being a newer, bigger ship – it mostly offers week-long itineraries including 3 stops. Our itinerary included the beautiful islands of Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. I will not focus on the stops much, but in summary all these destinations were a wonderful experience and are highly recommended.
